Purpose of the Society
The Society serves to unite physicians, other workers in healthcare and legal entities with interest in vitreoretinal diseases.
Specialists of various fields with will and interest in common activities may become members. Czech Vitreoretinal Society (CVRS) coordinates presentations, teaching and training events and publications in this field to raise knowledge of vitreoretinal diseases in ophthalmologists.
Moreover, its educational activities guarantee objective knowledge of vitreoretinal diseases in general public. It warrants raising of specialists´ knowledge.
Czech Vitreoretinal Society closely cooperates with medical societies of other specialties and other legal entities with relation to vitreoretinal field, it makes international contacts with scientific societies and leading specialists in this field. Its main partner in Czech Republic is the Czech Ophthalmological Society at the Czech Medical Society of J.E.Purkyně.

Czech Vitreoretinal Society organizes an annual congress dedicated to vitreoretinal diseases. In the meantime, society members meet on work days which are organized according to current need.
Organs of the Society
At the head of CVRS there is a committee of 7 members. In the chair of the committee is the president. Deputy of the president is the vice-president of CVRS. The committee is appointed at the day of the society foundation and holds office for a period of three years. Preparatory committee is responsible for commencing the activity of the Society. Regular sessions of the CVRS committee are scheduled once in two months on date and place set by the committee. After the expiration of his/her term of office, the committee is expanded by the latest president who retains an advisory vote for one more term of office.
General Assembly of the Czech Vitreoretinal Society is held on occasion of work days. In case of necessity it is called together by the CVRS committee. General Assembly proposes and approves the Supervisory Board of three members. The Supervisory Board supervises the proper work of the Society, its keeping to the statutes and financial management.
The CVRS committee is voted in election by ballot. The election committee of three members announces the names of seven CVRS members with the majority of gained votes. They become the members of the CVRS committee. The committee elects the president of the CVRS on its session, at which the overall election result is available. The office of president must be held only by member of the CVRS.
Other organizational units acting in their own name are not established.
Financial management
The treasurer who is a member of the CVRS committee is responsible for the financial management. He/she is responsible for correct account keeping. He/she receives all finances and deposits them on a special bank account of the CVRS. Any eventual financial obligations of CVRS may be paid only after previous agreement of the committee. All financial documents of CVRS are signed by the treasurer together with another committee member. Financial management report is submitted quarterly to the Supervisory Board.
The amount of membership fee for physical and legal entities is determined by the CVRS committee.
Final regulations
Eventual statute changes may be carried out only by ordinary resolution of the General Assembly.
